很多同學(xué)都認(rèn)為，English12課程學(xué)起來(lái)比較吃力，這門(mén)課程的難點(diǎn)在哪?

The course builds on the previous English courses, but the texts and writing assignments are much more challenging. This is because the course is designed to prepare students for first year university English courses. Students may struggle with advanced vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. Likewise, students are required to write a very demanding, three-hour provincial exam at the end of the course.

這門(mén)課程以所學(xué)的英語(yǔ)課程為基礎(chǔ)，但課文和寫(xiě)作更具挑戰(zhàn)性。這是因?yàn)檫@門(mén)課程是為銜接大學(xué)一年級(jí)的英語(yǔ)課程而設(shè)計(jì)的。學(xué)生可能在高級(jí)詞匯、閱讀理解、寫(xiě)作和語(yǔ)法方面遇到困難。同時(shí)，這門(mén)課程的考試難度也比較高。

您會(huì)用怎樣的上課和作業(yè)形式，幫助學(xué)生更好地學(xué)習(xí)這門(mén)課程?

Class time is split between a variety of projects, used to build general English skills, and reading and writing geared to prepare students for the exam. On the exam, students write a response paragraph, a narrative essay, and a synthesis essay, so lots of class time is dedicated to practicing these three writing forms. It is imperative that students listen to feedback and learn from their mistakes in order to improve. In many ways, the preparation for this course begins in grade 10. Students who make a concerted effort to read, write, and speak English on their own time, over the entirety of their time at Sino, vastly improve their chances of success.

課堂時(shí)間分為不同的項(xiàng)目，用來(lái)培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)技能、提升閱讀和寫(xiě)作的能力。在考試中，學(xué)生要寫(xiě)一篇回應(yīng)短文、一篇敘事性短文和一篇綜合性短文，所以很多課堂時(shí)間都用來(lái)練習(xí)這三種寫(xiě)作形式，通過(guò)不斷練習(xí)，從而取得進(jìn)步。總得來(lái)說(shuō)，這門(mén)課程需要從10年級(jí)就開(kāi)始做準(zhǔn)備，要求學(xué)生自己花時(shí)間提升閱讀、寫(xiě)作和說(shuō)英語(yǔ)的能力，這樣就大大提升了在這門(mén)課程上取得成功的機(jī)會(huì)。
